The polar vortex returns to the US, with frostbite-inducing temperatures blowing up millions of Americans.
According to the Fox Forecast Center, Arctic air has fallen, spreading across 48 states, with temperatures plunging to less than 30-40 degrees below average for this period.
Fox's forecast center says the frigid pattern appears to be trapped in the near future, with potentially deep freezes continuing until the end of the month.
National Weather Service offices across the country have issued cold climate recommendations and extreme cold warnings to more than 93 million Americans, extending from the US-Canadian border to the Florida Panhandle and Deep South Texas.
The cold of the evil winds of the Northern Tia
The Northern Central US suffers from the most extreme cold, with wind chills as low as -60 degrees in parts of Dakotas, Montana and Minnesota.
Bismarck, North Dakota, recorded a cold temperature of -39 degrees on Tuesday, the coldest day since January 15th, 2009.
Rochester, Minnesota, soaked at -19 degrees Tuesday morning, combining record lows on February 18th.
Over 204 million Americans have experienced sub-freezing temperatures.
Zero temperature reaches the south
Extreme cold warnings cover most of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
The Fox Forecast Center warns that parts of Texas could experience something cold comparable to the infamous Texas freeze of 2021.
It felt like -1 degrees in Dallas and -26 degrees in Dodge, Kansas on Wednesday morning.
These areas are expected to experience life-threatening wind chills until Wednesday morning, with temperatures approaching below 60 degrees at zero in central US

Under these conditions, frostbite can occur within minutes on exposed skin.
Record lows are possible across the plains and even south, like Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. By Thursday, dozens of cities are facing potentially record-breaking temperatures.
The situation becomes more concerned as Arctic air is pushed into the south and siege areas unaccustomed to the extreme cold are pushed south.
Arctic temperatures are not expected to rise until Saturday.
