According to Kansas City defensive end Charles Omenu, Patrick Mahomes will be “mission” to redeem himself after the Chiefs' 40-22 defeat to the Eagles in 2025 Super Bowl 2025.
Thursday installments “Up & Adams” on Fanduel TVOmenihu predicted that the quarterback will hold a “Big Time Revenge Tour” next season after a thrust-up defeat at Caesar Superdome in New Orleans on February 9th.
“We'll focus on extremes and control the organization more,” Omenif said when host Kay Adams asked what Mahomes' revenge tour would look like. “We're going to get my boy [wideout] Rashi [Rice] Back, that's great. In the way [Xavier Worthy] I'm playing and hopefully I can grasp the rest of the work.
“I think it's going to be a big time. He probably felt like he didn't have his best performance and he felt who he was and the best quarterback in the league, He wants to come back and have one of those big seasons. So I think it will certainly be like someone on missions.”
Rice was sidelined with a knee injury that kept him in an injured reserve for most of the season, including the Super Bowl.
Omenihu won the first career Super Bowl title with the Chiefs from 2023-24.
The six-year veteran recalls seeing the Chiefs' loss to the Eagles more than three times in Super Bowl 2025.
“I'm beyond that,” he said. “I saw it three times. We ended the meeting and talked to the coach. You can't go back in time, you can't live. Coach Reid said, “Hang your head over this.” I can't do it,” he said completely.
“You have to retool and fuel. You just have to learn a bit from that… I've seen my bad play over and over again.”
Omenihu will become an unlimited free agent after signing a two-year, $16 million contract with Kansas City in March 2023.
The Eagles have redeemed themselves after ruining the historic 3-peat Chiefs quest and crushing a 38-35 defeat to the Chiefs at the Super Bowl 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.
Philadelphia's top-ranked defense shut down Mahomes without sending a single blitz, putting pressure on 16 of 42 dropbacks.
Mahomes fired his career-highest career six times, earning 11 hits.
He threw two interceptions, including a second quarter pick six.
Mahomes then took responsibility for the Chiefs' loss and promised to get better next season.
“I defeated everything today.” He wrote x after the game. “I always keep working, learning, learning, making it better.
Mahomes was unremarkable after the Super Bowl and was not publicly disclosed.
He attended his grandfather's funeral in Texas on Monday.
Randy Mahomes, the father of Patrick's mother Randy, passed away last Friday at the age of 78 after entering the hospice.
At the time, the cause of death was not revealed.
