Florida dog Trooper who was cruelly tied to fence during Hurricane Milton beats cancer, other major health scare

The resilient dog, brutally fenced during Hurricane Milton, broke cancer several months after he was rescued and found his eternal home.

The White Bull Terrier troopers were surrounded by rising floods just off Interstate 75 near Tampa, Florida, just before the catastrophic Category 3 hurricane landed in October.

After Florida Highway Patrol spotted the trooper, Frank and Carla Spina recruited the dog and brought the family home.

The vet has diagnosed the most recent four-legged family with cancer.

“The doctor immediately said, 'Oh, these are mass cell tumors. These are cancers,” Frank revealed to CBS News.

The vet removed the cancer, but noted that there was a problem with the trooper's stomach. The troopers were consuming a freezer bag that weighed only 2 pounds.

“It's a combination of about 110 or 120 pieces of garbage,” Frank said.

The troopers were immediately subjected to life-saving surgery that lasted more than four hours as health officials removed both metal and rubber from their stomachs.

According to the outlet, the trash was among the troopers before he was adopted.

“Can you imagine how hungry he had to be to ingest a piece of metal or a quarter-sized rubber piece?” Frank said.

The former former owner of the trooper, Giovanni Garcia, has been charged with a third felony, aggravated animal cruelty.

The 23-year-old said, “It is said he left the puppy because he couldn't find anyone to pick up the dog.

The next hearing for the heartless former pet owner will be in March.
