Kevin Durant blasts Chris Paul’s ‘gimmicks’ after fiery exchange

Even among the former teammates and the oldest NBA players, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul were forced to interact with Chippy on Thursday night.

When Phoenix attempted an entry pass to Durant at the post, San Antonio's Jeremy Sochan defeated the ball and broke the boundary.

Durant must have heard a few words as Paul quickly turned to the Spurs point guard and began chatting with a slap in the face.

“I was a little hot at the time.” Durant said. “He was just going into my head, making me react and going out of the game.”

The host crew didn't have it, so they each handed Paul and Durant a technical foul.

Fracus continued as the team went to the locker room together. Durant stabs Seochangpoint in Paul's direction and continue with Jabber. He had to be restrained by his assistant coach.

“I know he likes gimmicks,” Durant said of Paul. “He's going to do anything to win the game.”

The winning game is what Paul did even without Victor Wenbagnama to diagnose a blood clot at the end of the season. San Antonio went on to Best Phoenix, 120-109.

Paul finished with 13 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in the win, while Durant had 22 points, 5 rebounds and two assists.

The Suns are currently sitting on the 11th seed of the Western Conference and are holding their final play-in tournament spot in two games behind the Golden State Warriors.

Spurs is one game behind Phoenix.
