Tesla recalls 376,241 vehicles after reporting that electronic power steering assist could potentially break down due to software defects.
The recall includes several 2023 Tesla Model 3 and 2023 Tesla Model Y. National Highway Traffic Safety Bureau.
As explained in the recall, the affected Tesla model electronic power assisted steering (EPA) can cause potential loss of steering when the vehicle begins to accelerate again after it is stopped.
The vehicle manufacturer says its design will prevent the loss of EPA while the model is in motion.
The recalled model can be identified below:
- 2023 Tesla Model 3
- 2023 Tesla Model Y
- Production date: February 24, 2023 – Octo. 11, 2023
- The vehicle is operating software prior to version 2023.38.4.
Tesla says no crashes or injuries have been reported.
The company says it has released a software update to address the issue.
The electric car maker owned by billionaire Elon Musk has said all stores and service centres will be notified of the recall and that the notification is expected to be sent to the owner on March 25th.
