NYC residents finally have answers after Post’s bombshell NYPD report

Inwood residents who say quality of life complaints about rough bars and restaurants are ignored, believe they have evidence of guns that will ultimately crack the case.

The post said last week that James, twin brother of NYPD Commissioner Edward Kaban, used his relationship with Officer Anedy Castillo, District 34, to halt 311 executions at the corporations he represents. He reported that it was being done.

Maria Kinnons is one of the locals who believe these meetings have led to a lack of enforcement last summer on noise, double parking, trash and other issues around restaurants and bars.

“I wondered who was making this all happen, why no one was doing anything about it,” said Kinnons, 62. “Now we know why.”

Residents have complained about a series of bars for years, but last summer said the situation was unbearable.

“It definitely got worse,” said longtime Inwood resident Maggie Clark. “More recently, using the 311 app, everything has been written down, and we can see that we have confirmed the time we registered our complaints and are closed within a few minutes.”

In August and September last year, around 8,500 service requests were made to 311 in Manhattan Community District 12, which covers Inwood.

Approximately 375 people were for noise and the parking problem was 900.

“I've never felt like I've never really been that fronted like I did when I read that article,” added 68-year-old Liz DeMayo.

However, the vehicle was dominated by double and triple parking on the sidewalk and on the street, causing chaos, but her complaints were in vain, she said.

A 55-year-old Tanya Bonner resident said that businesses were excruciatingly loud and loud in the summer.

“We asked for an audit of 311,” she said. “We wanted an update on the noise code. We wanted a lot of things and we've been spinning in circles.”

Added Quinones: “It's scary that this community of workers really wore sh-ts.”
