Nolan Arenado-Cardinals saga takes shock Astros twist

Nolan Arenado is able to head to Houston in the end.

Two months after the star's three bases traded with the Astros, Houston recently “updated their interest” to Arenado, According to a report from MLB.com.

Arenado, 33, shows that he is now “considering a potential deal with Houston” after his team has improved over the past few months per MLB.com.

In the deal that was killed in December, the Cardinals were to send between $15 million and $20 million to Asceredo's Astros.

Arenado has no transaction clauses and must grant approval for potential transactions.

“I have a lot of goals and I really feel in my mind that I can really achieve everything,” Arenado said Friday. “I'm thinking about it [the Hall of Fame] And I want to achieve that. But just like with the trade stuff, when I start thinking about it, it reminds me that I need to go back to work. ”

The Yankees were at Arenado at points this offseason, but still managed to return to bids, but at this point they weren't pursuing a 10 Gold Glover.

The Astros have drilled a big hole in the 3 base after two-time All-Star Alex Bregman left Houston and signed with the Red Sox earlier this month.

The news is the latest turn that has been a long offseason saga for Arenado and the Cardinals.

Less than two weeks later, John Mozeliac, president of the baseball business, showed Arenado was with the team and “probably” team on the first day.

“The way we think now is that he's likely to be part of our club at this point,” Mozeliac told reporters, “I definitely feel that I feel that I am feeling.”[s] That means Arenado will be in the hot corner when he starts the season on March 27th.

Arenado, who turned 34 in April, reached .272/.325/.394 with 16 home runs in 2024.
