Robin Van Persy has been appointed new manager for Fayenode, with former Manchester United and Arsenal signing the deal until 2027.
The 41-year-old, who won the Premier League title with United in 2013, left Heerenveen to take over with De Kuip. Van Persy collected seven wins from his 23-match replies, leading the club to ninth place in Eredy Busy.
Van Persy moved to Arsenal in 2004 and began his career at Feynauld before moving to Old Trafford eight years later. He left Manchester United in 2015, returned to Faynold in 2018, and retired a year later. Van Persy also won 102 caps in the Netherlands and 50 international targets.
In May 2020, Van Persy worked as an assistant to Dick Advocart at Fayenode, and later took on the coaching role in the youth setup for his hometown club. He signed a two-year contract with Heerenveen in the summer, but experienced a variety of results, including a 9-1 away defeat recorded by Az Alkmaar in September.
