Officer Dead After Gunman Takes ICU Staff Hostage at PA Hospital

One police officer was killed and two others were injured by a gunman who allegedly held ICU staff hostage Saturday in York, Pennsylvania's UPMC Memorial Hospital.

Breitbart News said the incident occurred Saturday morning, with multiple reports showing that shooters were being “neutralized” by law enforcement. However, the report of the injury and the extent of the injury was unknown.

CNN is now Report One of them, a police officer, was killed during the incident, and two other officers were injured. Both injured officers are in stable condition.

The gunman was identified as 49-year-old Archangel Diogenes Ortiz, who was said to have “arrived at the hospital with a handgun and a zip tie, carrying a bag and headed straight to the ICU.”
