Police say an insider's resident shot a 23-year-old man who allegedly kicked the door to the wrong apartment just before 1am on February 23, 2025.
Lexington Herald Leader It has been reported Deceased as Matthew Maggirt, a student at Western Kentucky University.
Police showed that Maggart “actively kicking the door to their apartment,” while legitimate residents of the apartment had called in 911.
Bowling Green Police Station A statement has been issued Maggart lived in the apartment, noting that the door he allegedly kicked was not the door to his apartment.
After a preliminary investigation, BGPD said, “The evidence suggests that he was disabled and accidentally entered the wrong apartment.”
Maggart's obituary say He said, “I was scheduled to graduate in May 2025 with a degree in Hospitality Management.”
