The Indiana man was arrested after killing Elon Musk and was later arrested after allegedly threatening to parade “corpses passing through the streets” in a series of threatening social media posts.

David Allen June Cherry, 28, was arrested on February 18th.th After posting multiple death threats targeting Elon Musk on X, Musk contacted Texas police.
Cherry made a threatening statement at the beginning of December last year, saying, “We're shooting you down, Muskrato,” followed by a January post where he wrote:
February 3rdrdreportedly he wrote another comment on Musk. You are on the hit list. ”
Within the same day he added: “You're taking the Americans out. We'll cut you off and parade your body through the street.”
Cherry is also said to have written later:
Following the threat, Texas officials contacted the Indiana State Police. There they arrested him and found an AR-15-style rifle along with a handgun, ammunition and a ballistic vest.
“Early Tuesday morning, Texas authorities contacted Indiana State Police about the X-handle, which allegedly belongs to David Allen June Cherry, aged 28, whom he believed to be resident of southern Indiana. Authorities allegedly claimed that David Cherry posted a threat directed at Elon Musk on X earlier this month,” Indiana Police said on Feb. 18.th.
“As part of an ongoing investigation, ISP detectives also requested a search warrant for the Palmyra residence in Cherry through Harrison County Superior Court. This request was granted and following subsequent searches, the detective confiscated an AR-15-style rifle, handgun, ammunition and ballistic vests from the residence.”
Cherry was later questioned, where he claimed the post was intended to be “edgy” and added that he was never intended to follow his threat.
Cherry was eventually released from prison after pleading not guilty to a count of level 5 threats.
Meanwhile, GoFundMe was created by Cherry to pay his legal fees.
Cherry's lawyer responded to the charges, saying, “What they said has made some statements, so whenever that is true, that's how the whole criminal charge is always the most important thing.”
Harrison County Prosecutor Otto Schark said: “It's been heavy and we're not going to be a hit with the idea of the surge in the surges.
Cherry's trial is scheduled to take place in August.
