Treroman hit the once-in-a-lifetime shot.
The Michigan State Guard hit a half-court shot at the half-court buzzer that surprised the crowd at the Xfinity Center Wednesday night, in a 58-55 victory over the Maryland Terrapins.
Maryland's Jacobi Gillespie fired a three-pointer hitting the backboard before the Spartan grabbed the rebound in just seconds at the watch.
Holloman began his shot from the logo behind the midcourt line, which passed through the hoop for victory.
The Spartans leapt out of their bench and flocked to the late-game heroes of joyous matches.
“I [saw] The rims, and the shot clock went down, so I had to throw it at him.” Holloman told the Big Ten Network. “We practiced them, so we got up and came in.”
Holloman said he was back in high school senior year when he had the last shot he won in the game.
“It was a lucky shot, but I can't say I don't deserve to win this game.” said Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo. “We made some bad mistakes and give them credit. We dumped the ball a little. We deserve to win this game. To come this place, I'm very proud of my peers, Tre has made a big turnover and he's made a lucky shot, but we deserve to win.”
Izzo added that he felt his team “played our tail all the time.”
Holloman averaged 8.8 points per game and finished the game on Wednesday night with nine points.
The victory was the Spartans' fourth victory and the fifth victory in their final six games.
