Dan Crenshaw brushes off apparent death threat as ‘hyperbole’ as ethics complaint looms

The conservative watchdog group filed an ethical complaint against Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R) on Tuesday, proposing his apparent suggestion to kill Tucker Carlson if the two meet in person. Crenshaw's claim was clearly “exaggerated.”

American Accountability Foundation It is shown On Tuesday, it wrote to the U.S. House of Representatives Office of Ethics, demanding an immediate investigation of Crenshaw's remarks. According to WatchDog Group, led by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), former Legislative Director, Crenshaw may have violated House rules by engaging in actions that respond to lawmakers.

Blaze News previously reported that Steven Edginton of GB News interviewed Crenshaw at the 2025 Responsible Civil Rights Conference in the UK last week, asking lawmakers about American global leadership, the “neocon” labels often apply to him, and the war in Ukraine.

When Esington mentioned Tucker Carlson's criticism of American aid for Ukraine, Crenshaw declared, “Tucker doesn't know what he's talking about.”

“No, seriously, I'll kill him.”

After the interview, Esington still rolled the camera and casually asked Crenshaw, “Have you ever met Tucker?”

in picture It originally didn't air on GB News, but went viral on social media on Monday. “I talked about a lot on Twitter, and if I see him I'll kill him.”

Showing the footage was real, Essington suggested that Crenshaw had doubled when he laughed at his remarks on X. Statement“No, seriously, I'll kill him.”

When Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R) asked in X, whether he threatened to kill Carlson, Crenshaw. I wrote it“Lol, no.”

AAF Proposed The failure to sanction Crenshaw for his obvious threat from media members “will freely threaten reporters they disagree with, and more importantly, send a message to reporters that they need to worry about their safety when reporting to members of Congress.”

“I absolutely do not want to harm him.”

“There is no rational construction of credible actions that include threats. [sic] Innocent journalists simply oppose their members,” the AAF pointed out in the complaint.

“As Representative Crenshaw frequently points out, he is a former Navy seal and therefore has received important military training in applying lethal forces, so we should reasonably assume that his threat of killing someone should be taken seriously,” the AAF added.

When asked for comment, a Crenshaw spokesperson directed Blaze News to a Kriv-TV interview on Wednesday, Crenshaw. It is listed“I found the video myself after seeing all the rage online, saying it was the lightest 'death threat' I've ever seen.

“I think everyone knows that it's an exaggeration and is seriously looking at himself and being honest, and that it's an exaggeration, and no, Tucker has nothing to worry about. I absolutely don't want to harm him.”

The lawmaker told Kriv that he would not accept Carlson's invitation to sit for an interview, pointing out that “I don't want to be in the same room as him.”
