Arkansas bills keep Chinese firms from leasing land near infrastructure

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) introduced legislative packaging Wednesday banning “companies associated with the Chinese Communist Party” from leasing or purchasing land around military bases and electric currents.

“We also ban promotional items made in China from the state government. These items should be made in the US,” Sanders said.

State Sen. Blake Johnson (R) is the main sponsor of the bill, along with five House Republicans from the Arkansas Legislature.

“From banning Chinese military drones to ban land ownership, to enacting serious penalties and making foreign influence illegal,” state Rep. Britt Mackenzie, co-sponsor of the bill, said in a statement.
