While his missing Wisconsin father in a heart condition was fighting the rain and starvation, he fought whether he had died after disappearing for three days in a dense Puerto Rican rainforest.

Abdur Rahman, 64, said he was “hunger” when his rescuers saved him from the harsh wilderness on vacation. His family told CBS 58.

Rahman was separated from his family during a hiking trip in the El Yunke National Forest on Sunday, local media outlet El Bocellohas been reported.

Six groups of rescuers, equipped with dogs and drones, tirelessly plagued the forests, known for their waterfalls, rivers and thick vegetation, for three days before finding tourists.

Officials fought the tough situation while tracking down Antonio Rosa's commissioner of Rio Grande Police. El Bocello.

“It's raining this morning. We have a lot of fog, which reduces us, but we have to trust HR and its capabilities,” Rosa said on the day Rahman was discovered.

Rosa escalated an important search effort when Rahman's family informed them that the Patriarch had been diagnosed with diabetes and had heart disease.

Rahman was found after rescuers found footprints on the road, excluded “areas within the search boundary” and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Rahman's daughter, Mereen Asura, feared that her father was dead.

“I didn't think he was alive,” she told CBS58.

Alsa says that some of her family took the side trail to reach the guard location to take photos while hiking, but realized that her father had disappeared when he wasn't with them on the main trail.

Her husband, Fazal Hunzai, knew they couldn't waste their time.

Hunzai also went the wrong path, turning around for “almost an hour,” then returned to his family on the main trail, fearing that his stepfather might have also got lost.

“I told my wife, “Call 911 right away, because he sounds missing,” Hunzai recalled.

After police intervened to assist in the search, they were instructed to return to their Airbnb when it became too dark and dangerous for them to wander.

“When I couldn't find him for 24 hours, I thought he had fallen somewhere and died,” Arsa told the outlet.

By the third day, his daughter was ready to accept the fact that her father might never see him alive again.

“We almost gave up,” she revealed with a hard time.

However, when they received the words on the rescue radio, their hopes were restored. Rahman found out he was alive about 15 hours of walks from the isolated location.

“He said, 'Yes, he's alive,' I jumped like a little baby, hugged me, piggyback hug, hugged me like a police officer,” Hunzai recalls.

His son-in-law says he saw Rahman before he was taken to the hospital, and he appears to be in good condition and was discharged on Wednesday.

Rahman suffered some scuffs but no serious injuries.
