The Democratic mayor of Boston is eager to express his sadness and eagerness to the family of a man killed while trying to stab the two at a restaurant on Saturday.
First incident It happened In Chickfil A in the Back Bay area, NBC Boston reported:
Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said off-duty officers were at a fast food restaurant around 5:30pm when two people were chased by a man holding a knife trying to stab them. The officer identified himself as such and ordered the man to drop the knife.
The man was allegedly unsuccessful in dropping the weapon, and the officer shot him. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead. No one else was injured.
Mayor Michelle Wu (D) at a press conference on the street after the incident I said“My pathetic dol and our thoughts are all in the family of individuals whose lives have been lost.”
“And I'm also thinking about all the people affected here today in this tragedy, one of the busy parts of the city. I'm delighted that the officers are safe and very grateful for the prompt response from all the first responders here,” she said.
