Business credit cards from most banks do not report on personal credit reports. When applying for a business card, difficult investigations may still appear on your personal credit report, but they have not been reported to consumer credit institutions (with a few exceptions) by most major banks, unless your account is arrears. Over the weekend, many reports began to spread about Chase Business accounts being reported to consumer credit reporting agencies. At this point it is unclear whether this is a policy change or whether unintended changes will be resolved.
Dr. Credit reported yesterday About data points related to this. There was also a report from someone who said they had spoken to someone from Chase's “Executive Office” in the Miler Insiders Facebook group. Members of our group who reported speaking to “Higher Up” claimed that this was a deliberate decision at the time of the initial statement since 3/1/25 and the new accounts retroactively reporting old accounts.
Personally, I think it's too early to make sure you know what's going on here. Many of the comments I've seen show that this is happening now in isolated cases in the past and can be resolved by calling the right department of Chase. This time it seems to have had an impact on far more people. It could indicate a policy change. On the contrary, I have seen reports from other people who were told this was a known error that could not be fixed at least until today. I would like to emphasize that mobile phone representatives, or even offices and title supervisors and people, often get things wrong.
I think it's too early to know if this is a broad change or an error, but it's certainly worth paying attention to this developing situation. The main reason many people are disappointed if this turns out to be an actual policy change is that it means that Chase's business card will be added to the 5/24 count (and use on your own business card could potentially lower your score). We will continue to monitor for updates on this.
