Harvey Weinstein breaks silence on Adrien Brody mentioning his children in Oscars 2025 speech

Former film mogul and convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein shared his response to how he and his ex-wife Georgina Chapman's children are being referenced in Adrian Brody's long Oscar 2025 acceptance speech.

Brody, 51, took to the Dolby Theatre performance on Sunday night and accepted his second award for his leading role in “The Brutalist.”

After being awarded the award by actor Chilean Murphy, Brody went to the six-minute spill, during which he cried out two children, Weinstein and Chapman, India, 14-year-old, son Daciel, 11.

“I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina,” Brody said.

Brody then reveals his Indian nickname, and Daciel says to him, “It was a roller coaster, but thank you for accepting me in your life, and for Poppycy's return to the winner.”

Following Brody's big victory, Weinstein, who is currently sentenced to a long sentence on Rikers Island, saw the actor's speech.

Brody and Chapman's romance was first confirmed in February 2020. They debuted the red carpet as a couple at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival.

The founder of Marchesa previously married Weinstein, 72, in 2007 and welcomed two children together.

At the star-studded ceremony on Sunday night, Brody broke the world record for the longest acceptance speech in Oscar history. It rivals his 3.5 hour movie.

In his six-minute speech, Brody defeated Timote Chalametto, Colman Domingo, Sebastian Stan and Ralph Fiennes in the best actor category – saying that winning his second Oscar “is beyond the pinnacle of his career,” and “hoping he will prove “that meaningful, important, relevant and persuasive.”

“It can all go away regardless of where you are in your career or what you accomplish,” he said. “And I think what makes this night the most special is the recognition of it and the gratitude I still have to do the work I love.”

After the actor's name was announced as the winner, he immediately hugged Chapman.
