Rep Darrell Issa nominates President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize

R-Calif Rep. Darrell Issa announced in a post on X on Monday that he nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“Today I'm nominating @RealdonaldTrump for the Nobel Peace Prize. No one deserves it,” Issa declared in a tweet.

Fox News Digital contacted Issa's office on Tuesday and asked lawmakers to comment on why lawmakers decided to nominate the president for the award.

“Ronald Reagan does not better represent the fundamental case of a world without peace through strength, or war,” Issa said in a statement in Fox News Digital.

“Amazingly, Donald Trump's election in 2024 was a clear kick to the cause of peace in many parts of the world, more than 10 weeks before he sworn in. We hope that we are already benefiting.

President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.

Rep. Claudia Tenney (RN.Y.) nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize last year.

“Donald Trump was helping to promote his first new peace deal in the Middle East for the first time in almost 30 years,” the lawmaker said in a January 2024 press release.

In late 2024, Tenny nominated Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israeli Defense Minister Joab Gallant for the awards.

She allegedly said, “The brave work to fight terrorism and stand up to Islamic regimes has increased regional and global stability,” according to a December 2024 press release.
