‘This type of behavior is viewed as atrocious’

The Florida Attorney General has launched a criminal investigation into widely criticized conservative influencers Andrew and Tristian Tate, and announced Tuesday that they are seeking subpoena and search warrants in the brothers' case.

Attorney General James Usmier confirmed the latest developments after a “preliminary investigation” was conducted with the Tate Brothers, who landed in Sunshine from Romania last week and has a pending human trafficking lawsuit against them.

“Based on a thorough review of the evidence, I have directed the prosecutor's office to execute a search warrant and issue a subpoena in a currently active criminal investigation against the Tate brothers,” Uthmeier said. He said in a social media post.

Though Andrew, 38, and Tristian, 36, have attracted millions of male followers on social media, Andrew, a former professional kickboxer and proud self-promotional misogynist, has been accused of putting together the criminals who were arrested.

The duo, who have double US citizenship, has denied fraud. Travel restrictions were recently lifted by Romanian officials who allowed the Tate brothers to reach the United States, but they must return if summoned by judicial authorities.

“People can spin and defend as much as you want, but in Florida, this type of behavior is considered abuse, and we're not going to accept that,” he said.

“They chose to come here and step into this state. We intend to pursue all the tools that are within our legal authority to keep them accountable.”

The AG added that if the pair commit a crime in Florida, prosecutors “will chase them with all the effort of the law and hold them accountable.”
