“This is a time for big dreams and bold actions,” President Donald Trump said in his first speech to Congress in five years. Trump demonstrated that he was not figuratively speaking or delaying, and many American dreams came true before the end of his speech.
After respecting fallen New York police officer Jonathan Diller and asking Congress to pass a law requiring the death penalty of police killers, Trump turned everyone's attention to Devaljay “DJ” Daniel, a terminally ill Texan boy, amongst the audience who were aiming to join law enforcement.
“To be in tonight's gallery is a young man who really loves our police,” Trump said. “His name is DJ Daniel. He was 13 and always dreamed of becoming a police officer.”
In 2018, Daniel was diagnosed with brain cancer and spinal cancer. Texan, who was six at the time, was given five months of living. Daniel underwent at least 13 brain surgeries and fought for years since, beating all expectations.
During the course of his fight against cancer, Daniel was sworn into hundreds of police stations across the country as an honorary officer.

Republicans and others erupted to fierce applause as Theodis Daniel raised his son, wearing a Houston police station uniform and raised his son on his head to see everyone following Trump's introduction.
After realising that Daniel had made his prognosis a long life for six years, Trump said, “The DJ was actually sworn as an honorary law enforcement officer. In fact, the police love him. The police department loves him.
“We are asking our new Secret Service Director Sean Curran to represent the Secret Service in the US,” Trump said.
Among agents rushing to protect Trump during his July 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, US Secret Service Director Sean Curran handed Daniel a USSS badge.
Daniel threw his arm around Curran after showing his new badge to the misty audience.
Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) and most other Democrats remained seated. One of the only Democrats who have expressed a bit of support for Trump's gestures was It is reportedly New York Rep. Laura Gillen actually stood up to praise Daniel's approval of the Secret Service.
Daniel said in a video shared by the White House, “I'll continue until my gas tank is exhausted. That's when God calls you home. I'll never know that God will call you home.”
