China has warned that President Donald Trump is ready for a “type of war” against the United States after he enacted higher tariffs in a more populated Asian country.

“If war is what the US wants, we're ready to fight to the end, whether it's a tariff war, a trade war or another kind of war,” China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Lyn Zian said late Tuesday.

Tensions began escalating after 10% tariffs on Chinese imports rose to 20% on Tuesday.

He went on to warn that “blackmail” and “bullying” from the US would not work, and China raised tariffs on American produce to 15% in retaliation.

“Pressure, coercion, or threat is not the right way to deal with China. Anyone using the greatest pressure on China is choosing the wrong guy and making a miscalculation,” the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, Trump has repeatedly justified the new tariffs. 25% for Mexican and Canadian products and 20% for Chinese products.

The president has denounced countries for the ongoing fentanyl and opioid crisis, and drugs are being smuggled closely into the United States through the borders of three countries. Trump argues that neither Mexico, Canada nor China have taken action to stop these efforts.

China later added that if the US “really wants to solve the fentanyl problem,” the “right thing” is to consult with China with mutual respect.

Back to protect China's 15% tariffs on American goods, Jiang claimed that China has “cleared the opposite” to the tariffs, pointing out that “we must protect our rights and interests.”

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses ensured that the US was doing everything to fully “preparation” and stop conflict with China. Fox News“”Fox and friendsWednesday morning program.

“Those who long for peace must prepare for war,” Hegses said.

“That's why we are rebuilding our military. That's why we are reestablishing the deterrence of the warrior's mind. We live in a dangerous world with powerful and dominant countries with very different ideologies.”

“They are rapidly increasing defense spending, modern technology. They want to replace the United States,” he continued. “If we want to stop war with the Chinese and others, we must be strong.”

A warning from the new US Secretary of Defense reminded the US in a speech to Congress on Tuesday night that “other countries have been using tariffs on us for decades.”

“Now it's our turn to start using them against other countries. On average, the European Union, China, Brazil, India, Mexico, Canada…and countless other countries are charging tariffs that are much higher than we charge. That's very unfair,” the president said.

“The average tariffs in China on our products are twice as many as we charge them,” he concluded.
