Elon Musk and government efficiency have made key headlines to cut down ineffective government agencies, but Daniel Horowitz, the host of “conservative review with Daniel Horowitz,” believes there is more to be needed.
“What we've seen for the past five weeks or so is a vision of what could be,” Horowitz tells Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson on “Blaze News Tonight.” “But what I learned from the previous administration is that this must be codified on the budget and it must be mounted with Congress to stop the landing.”
But even some conservatives get in the way.

“Unfortunately, what we're starting to see is that Mike Johnson has been implementing a continuous solution and has been saying that since last year we'll be putting everything on autopilot. So, what about USAID, what about the cuts from the Department of Education?” Horowitz asks, adding, “The question is, Congress is going to go and give us refunds, so much of this is unbearable.”
“Obviously, we all agree that it's worth going after receiving an overpayment of the program,” he continues.
Rather, he explains, “it's the scope of federal involvement in transportation, agriculture and healthcare.”
“If we're fundamentally reforming healthcare and essentially entrusting the entire program, then the state doesn't actually cut the deficit if we don't eliminate the entire program,” he says.
Horowitz has doubts, but Peterson is optimistic.
He told Horowitz: “I'm totally fine now with a little punt to continue and start this for a few months. As the various parts of the Trump administration are increasingly confident, I'm sure Doge is increasingly educating the public, preparing for cuts, and preparing for the cuts that are actually needed.”
“Of course, if I don't, I'll scream with everyone else, but for now the signs look pretty good,” he adds.
