TAMPA – DJ Lemahieu's MRI showed that his calf injury thought he was.
That's good and bad for the Yankees veteran three bases.
Lemahieu received imaging showing tension in a grade 1 or 2 calf, he said Thursday morning.
And although he hasn't spoken to the Yankees medical staff about the exact timeline yet, he knows it'll be a little before he starts baseball again, but he guarantees that everything will open the season with an injured list.
“At least a few weeks,” Lemahieu said at the clubhouse in Steinbrennerfield.
The 36-year-old, who had derailed his last two or more seasons with a foot injury, tweaked his calves in his second at-bat on spring Saturday.
“Nothing came out of the MRI.

Still on a two-year and $30 million contract, Lemahieu joined the camp with the chance to win a 3-base job, but now that competition is up to Oswald Cabrera and Oswald Peraza.
It's no surprise to see the Yankees being added to that position before the opening day.
For now, Lemahieu is back to his all-familiar rehabilitation pass.
