Gilbert, Arizona (azfamily) – Over the past year, 7-year-old Jet Carter has had many experiences. One thing he looks forward to is going back to freshman year.

“I work in a hospital and say our insurance can only be taken care of through dignity facilities. But there are no dignity facilities in this state or country that provide that kind of treatment,” she said.

Treatment is only performed at Mayo Clinic. She fought to get approval to take him there.

“They agreed he couldn't take this, so when the bill finally came, insurance would do the right thing, but that proved not true,” she said.

The Arizona family contacted United Healthcare early Thursday afternoon, and a spokesman promised to investigate the incident. Late in the afternoon, Carter said the employer contacted her and had coding issues and the bill would be covered by insurance.

In the meantime, Jet will be doing pet scans next week. His family hopes that everything will look good, and he hopes that he can put his own harbor and return to school. And there's one more thing that makes him excited.

“Disney!” he laughed.

Donations are accepted through a Crowdfunding page for Jet and his family.
