Stephen A. Smith Fuels 2028 Chatter as He Slams Dems for Having No ‘National Voice’

ESPN Talker Stephen A. Smith remains the most vocal figure who appears to have not run for the Democratic 2028 Democratic presidential nomination. He told late-night host Jimmy Fallon that the Democrats don't have a “people's voice.”

Wednesday night Tonight's show Along with Jimmy Fallon, Smith was asked if he could save the Democrats.

“People are nuts, number one,” Smith began. “No. 2, you know, Democrats, I mean, they're lost. They've had bad months. We all know this. And there are many qualified Democrats across the country from a local perspective, but the governor, mayor, that kind of thing, there's no real national voice. Enter Moi. They came to me. So, I didn't ask for this. I don't want this. I happen to have a very, very good life and I do a very good job. I'm fine, so good.”

After that, Smith did what Smith was doing. He said he was uninterested and fell into political support for comedy.

“I'm saying, 'Wait a minute. I don't want to do this.' But the fact that they're talking about me like this means I have to say I approve this message,” he said.

Smith's political ambition discussion only comes the day after the ESPN hot take dispenser has followed View And, contrary to her opinion, it shocked host Joy Behar by letting her know that President Trump had actually been delegated to the American people in 2024.

“He got all the swing states,” Smith explained. “He increased in terms of voter turnout for his voters from the perspective of black, Latino and young voters. 89% of the county has moved to the right. That's an obligation!”

It is unlikely that Smith will enter the political stage as a candidate. But given what he gets from talking about politics, it's doubtful that he will soon quit.
