Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Christie Noem has announced that two people have been identified who leaked information about the operation of the DHS.
“We've identified two leakers here at the Department of Homeland Security, who are talking to individuals about our business and risking the lives of law enforcement,” Noem Share. “We plan to indict these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they did.”
“We will continue to do everything we can to keep America safe,” Noem added.
Tricia McLaughlin, DHS spokesperson I explained it Fox News said DHS was “preparing to refer” two unnamed individuals to the Department of Justice (DOJ) “for felony prosecution.”
“We are preparing to refer these assailants to the DOJ for felony prosecution. These individuals face up to 10 years in federal prison,” explained McLaughlin. “We find and route all the leaks. They face prison time and we will get justice for the Americans.”
The announcement from Noem tells Fox News' Sean Hannity that people have previously been identified who have leaked information about Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) businesses regarding “potential illegal aliens facing possible deportation procedures.”
Hannah Knudsen of Breitbart News reported that DHS plans to use polygraph testing as part of its efforts to “crash” leaks regarding ice raids. This has come in response to reported leaks that prevented attacks in places such as Aurora, Colorado.
