On Friday, Secretary Brooke Rollins announced that a $600,000 grant to study “menstrual cycles in transgender men” had been cancelled.
“Cancel: A $600,000 grant to study menstrual cycles in transgender men,” Rollins wrote Friday on social media platform X.
“Send me some tips. Thank you @Approject! The madness is over and America's recovery is ongoing,” she added.
According to the database usaspending.govthe US Department of Agriculture awarded $600,000 to the Southern University Agricultural Machinery College in Louisiana.
The database, “Fundraising Madness: Federal Expenses on Gender Ideology under Biden Harris,” states that schools will study the menstrual cycles of “transgender men and men's gender identities, intersex, non-binary people.”
“The first occurrence of menstruation occurs at about 12 years of age and ends at about 51 years of age,” reads the grant explanation. “Women get a menstrual cycle every month for about 40 years of their lives, and on average it is around 450 periods over their life.”
“It is also important to recognize that transgender men and male gender identities, intersex, non-binary people can also menstruate,” the explanation adds. “Around 26% of the world's population is always menstruating.”
The aim of this study is to “address growing concerns” about menstruation, including the potential use of natural fibers like hemp in feminine hygiene products.
The grant was expected to run until April 2027.
The Conservative Charity Principles Project first discovered the report. The report discovered more than 340 federal grants awarded under the Biden administration to various institutions, including universities and hospitals, and found government spending in total of more than $188 million.
