Xavier Worthy was released Saturday after a Texas district attorney refused to pursue charges against a Chiefs Wide receiver in Kansas City after an arrest accused of felony domestic violence.
Worthy, 21, was arrested Friday for assaulting a family member or family member for obstructing his family and circulation, Jailhouse records show, in the Georgetown suburbs of Austin, Texas.
Williamson County District Attorney Sean Dick said Saturday that authorities would not accept a valuable case. According to Austin's American state.
“After further investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and further discussion with third-party witness Worthy and his attorneys, the case has been denied by the time the Williamson County Sheriff's Office has been completed,” Dick said in an email to the publication. “Mr. It's worth it, and his lawyers are fully involved in this investigation.
“We will continue to evaluate the cases,” he added. “As with all reductions, in this case, if we create additional information that demonstrates a probable cause, our office may consider that information and present a case to Williamson County Grand Ju Court at that time.”
After his arrest, Worthy's lawyers issued a statement to keep his client innocence.
“We are aware of allegations that led to Worthy's arrest,” the statement said. “We are working with Williamson County law enforcement to ensure the overall benefit of the situation that led to this allegation.
“The petitioner has been asked multiple times over the past two weeks to vacate Mr Worthy's residence upon discovery of an affair in which a private investigator has video evidence. She refused to vacate the residence and made many urgent efforts before resorting to this unfounded allegation against Mr Worthy. The petitioner also destroyed the room of the residence, scratched Mr Worthy's face and toreed part of her hair. Mr Worthy told law enforcement at the time of the case that she did not want to file charges against the petitioner.
“We will continue to work with Williamson County authorities. Their in-depth investigation supports their in-depth investigation to support Mr. Worthy's innocence.”
The California native was drafted by the Chief in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, helping the team make their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
