The two suspected murderers who allegedly killed a good Samaritan in Los Angeles County were illegally in the country and have long criminal records when he was trying to stop him from stealing a catalytic converter from his neighbor, Fox News has learned.
Wilbur Alberto Lavanares and Jose Christian Saravia Sanchez were arrested by police on Thursday in the Los Angeles suburbs of Inglewood for the February 25 murder of Juan Miguel Sanchez.
The incident was caught up in surveillance video.
Lavanales, a Guatemalan national, has been arrested at least 15 times in the county over the past few years, primarily on gun charges, grand theft, robbery and drug charges, police sources told Fox News.
He has been subject to multiple grand larceny arrests, as well as past charges for multiple DUI accusations, conspiracy, possession of guns, possession of robbery tools, possession of methane, possession of stolen property, and blows and conduct of felony charges during police pursuits.
Sanchez has been arrested at least dozens of times. This was arrested primarily for grand theft, gun charges, drugs, robbery, lure, possession of meta, possession of robbery tools, sources said.

The victim was shot in the chest after the suspect confronted a suspect allegedly trying to steal a catalytic converter, reported by Fox 11.
The suspect was run away by car and was later arrested about 15 miles east of Inglewood at a motel in Kudahee, California.
Susana Sanchez, the victim's younger sister, said it was April 4th.
“You've made up a large part of our hearts,” she said in an interview with Fox 11.
His family told the station they left for work that morning before 4am.
“He is a big man of faith and never missed Mass on Sunday,” his sister said.
“He volunteered at church on Sunday morning.”
She added that he is the only provider of his family.
“And now he's gone and leaves behind his step-sister and two sons,” she added.
The family told Fox11 that the victim should quit his job when he received chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer.
