Florida Substitute Teacher Urged Children to Beat Up Classmate

Alternate teachers in Jacksonville, Florida have been accused of encouraging students to unite their classmates vigorously.

The suspect, identified as Geanene White, who is allegedly urged students to defeat another child, is accused of assaulting the victim in the incident, First Coast News It has been reported Wednesday.

The incident took place on February 12th at YMCA Tiger Academy in Bagley Road. Serve From Pre-K to 5th grade.

Law enforcement records show officers responded to the school about alleged child abuse cases and learned that White was accused of targeting classmates by students, the first coastal news story continued.

The report says that White first asked students to join a small group, but when he refused, she became frustrated and asked the class, “Who can beat him?”

After the assault, Shira is said to have pushed the child who hit his head on the desk. The alternative teacher called the two teachers for help and said police said they needed “behavioral intervention.”

However, it is said that White did not report the fight to them.

The victim reportedly suffered a small tear and bruise behind his ear. “One student told police he would never have fought the victim, but the teacher told him to do it,” a First Coast news article said.

The suspect is said to have denied being involved in the fight. It has been reported Wednesday.

In a statement, the First Coast YMCA said:

The First Coast YMCA recognized the incident at Tiger Academy involving students and alternative teachers who were properly vetted by both the First Coast YMCA and Duval County public schools. The safety and well-being of our scholars and staff has always been our number one priority, and therefore we quickly followed the protocol to investigate the issues. Once the internal investigation was completed, the employment of alternative teachers was terminated. We immediately reported the incident to children and families who were working with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to conduct an ongoing investigation. Any further questions about the incident should be directed towards them.

After she was arrested, White was charged with four counts of contributing to child abuse and delinquency of minors.
