Kenan Thompson is still caught up in the “shock” of the death of his Nickelodeon co-star Michel Tratchenberg.
“Saturday Night Live” star 46 suddenly handed him a pass in an interview with E. News published on Monday, March 10th.
The post exclusively reported that Trachtenberg was found to have died on February 26th at the age of 39.
“It was a very shocking thing,” Kennan told the outlet, revealing how he discovered the news that was upset.
“I received that text from my business partner Johnny [Ryan Jr.] And I didn't understand what the headline was. I just saw a picture of her and it was like “dead.” Those are two words I saw, and I thought, “That's not true. Why does it happen?”
Trachtenberg rose to fame with Nickelodeon alongside Thompson in the 90s.
Sources posted that the Gossip Girl alumni had a liver transplant last year, suggesting that her body may have rejected the organ.
The insider also claimed that she died of natural causes. However, after her family opposed the autopsy, her cause of death was ruled as “undecided.”
After Trachtenberg passed away, insiders told Weekly “something felt,” adding, “she was really frail and sick for a while.”
Thompson touched on the late Star's health issues.
“It would have been good to be one of those people who could have eased some of the pain if she had been suffering,” he said. “That's what she needs shoulders and extra ears.”
The comedian said, “She is loved. I hope she doesn't have any pain anymore.”
Their paths rarely crossed since the days when children starred, but Thompson shared that he was still in touch with Trachtenberg on social media, but not as often as he hoped.
“I went half-do with her on Instagram, just randomly,” he said. “When we did Good hamburgerI wish she was sporadically “Where is my cameo? I'm happy to all of you.” just [make] Make sure you know what people are going through. ”
Thompson was among many celebrities who paid tribute to Trutchenberg after her death.
“Our first Nick movie star has left us!!” he Captioned the post. “She was my friend and now she's resting! 🙏🏾”
He said, “Check out your people!!! ❤!”
Trachtenberg's “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar and fellow “Gossip Girl” alumnus Blake Lively also shared some inspiring posts in her memory.
The post recently spoke to Casey Tebo, the producer partner of Trachtenberg, who shared that he and her boyfriend, talent agent Jay Cohen, are planning to make her final project a reality.
Before her death, the actress had written a script called “Toy Monster.” However, he shared and development ceased.
Tebo said he and Cohen were determined to make Trutchenberg's final project “If Jay and I made it.”
