President Trump has vowed to “lead the charges” to Republican Rep. Thomas Massey (Ky.), who said he would not support the GOP's short-term government funding bill ahead of the closure deadline on Friday.
Trump has begun True Social Post We would like to thank Massy for supporting the StopGap fundraising package late Monday night, supporting Mike Johnson (R-La.) to keep the government open, and then supporting Massy in his efforts to seek primary.
“Thank you to the House Freedom Caucus, who has taken a big blow to the radical left Democrats and their desire to raise taxes and close our country! They hate America, and that's what it symbolizes. So they have allowed millions of criminals to infiltrate our country. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to do the right thing. The beautiful Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massey is an automatic “no” vote for almost everything, despite having always voted for ongoing resolutions in the past. He should be primary and I will lead the charges against him,” Trump said.
The president then compared Massy to former Congressman Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.). Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) was investigated on January 6, 201 and was condemned by the Republican National Committee. Trump approved Cheney's major challenger in the 2022 race.
“He's another ancestor, and there's too much trouble and it's not worth the fight. He reminds me of Liz Cheney before her historical record-breaking fall (loss!). The people of Kentucky don't support it, just look. Are there any takers? Anyway, thank you once more to the House Freedom Caucus for your very important vote. You need to buy time to make America great again than ever. Unite and win!!!” Trump said.
Massey frequently defies his party on financial issues, and has raised doubts about passing on an ongoing resolution to maintain government funding until the end of the fiscal year.
“I think someone can control my voting card by threatening my reelection. I said in x Before Trump's post.
“There were three challengers who tried to become more Maga than me,” Massey added. “My constituents did not destroy 25% because they prefer transparency and principles over blind loyalty.
The president too Attacked Massy in 2020when he called him the “third rate ancestor” of X and called him out of the Republican Party.
