An investigation into the death of Infowars' death reporter Jamie White continued Tuesday, with the Austin Police Department (APD) saying the victim likely died during the robbery.
The APD responded to a call about a shooting in South Austin at around 11:56pm on Saturday night and found a 36-year-old white man.
“White was taken to a local hospital where he was declared to have passed away at 12:19am on March 10th, 2025,” the statement said. “Murder detectives and crime scene experts responded to the site to deal with and interview witnesses.
“The initial investigation shows that Shiwa was shot and killed in the parking lot of the apartment he lived in. The suspect fled the scene,” police added. “Detectives believe that when the suspects interrupt them, they could be robbing White's vehicle.”

According to Fox 7 Austin, 57 crimes were reported in White's apartment in 2024, including vehicle theft, aggravated assault and at least one robbery. White's friend, Yecca Aaron, told Fox 7 that she continued working late before the journalist was killed.
“It all happened when he got home, literally,” Aaron said. “It's weird that he's like that.
“I keep moving between feelings of anger and sadness.”
Aaron also said that White “loves support the truth and talked about what he believed.”
“His job was his life,” she said. “He loved going to work. He never got lazy at work. His articles were very well written.

“I don't think he was targeted because of the place he worked. I think he was just targeted because he was in the right place at the wrong time.”
In a statement, Infowars condemned White's death for “Soros Austin, Texas policy, Texas Da Jose Garza.”

“We vowed that Jamie's tragic death would not be in vain, and the person responsible for this pointless violence would be brought to justice,” the statement said. “Jamie's important work is done through Infowars, his readers and his precious listeners.”
