According to court documents, Nicholas Cage, the mother of a 34-year-old son, dismissed her claims against the “national treasure” actor in connection with the lawsuit his son accused of assault.
Christina Fulton, who dated Cage from 1988 to 1991, sued both her son Weston Coppola Cage and the 61-year-old actor last month, claiming that Cage ignored her son's mental health issues and “valid” his actions.
“Weston has a long history of mental and psychological disorders and commits violent assaults and batteries, hurting many individuals,” the lawsuit states. “Nicholas knew Weston's history, but still failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing violent acts and hurting others.”
The dismissal was granted on Tuesday on prejudice; Entertainment Weekly.

“The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicholas Cage are ridiculous and frivolous,” Cage's lawyer told Fox News Digital in February. “Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man.”
“Mr. Cage does not control Weston's actions in any way and is not responsible for alleged assault on Weston's mother,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, Weston's lawyers argued that “the incident with his mother was caused by her, not her father.”

“Weston's father, Nicholas Cage, had absolutely nothing to do with Weston's emotional state or condition leading up to the incident with his mother, Christina Fulton.” “With Christina's encouragement and direction, he agreed to see a new doctor chosen by her. She quickly changed his medication and treatment.”
Weston's lawyer added, “Unfortunately, an emotional/medical breakdown led to a case with his mother. Christina's efforts to blame her father for the incident are absolutely wrong now, and are merely an attempt to raise media attention and make him pay.”
Weston and Fulton are allegedly caught up in a physical discussion at their home in Los Angeles in April 2024. He was arrested in July on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon after filing himself on a warrant.

Fox News Digital confirmed from a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department that Weston entered the 77th District early on July 10th. He was released on bonds at the time.
On July 11, Fulton claimed Weston was being “brutally assaulted” and said that his son “receives the help he desperately needs.”
Fulton claimed that Cage had rescued him from prison several times and made his son possible by drinking with him.
The request to dismiss a request for a cage filed on March 7th states it relates to the cage only. Los Angeles Times It has been reported.
