Shaheen needles Scott Brown over potential GOP Senate bid

New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (d) introduced former rival Scott Brown on Wednesday for his position as a former Massachusetts Senator, as he places emphasis on bidding to replace her in the Senate.

“You didn't listen to me say [this]: When you write a story, write that he color his hair, and I don't. I don't know, he's making noises,” Shaheen told Sema in an interview.

“He's not from New Hampshire. He's not doing anything in New Hampshire except pretending he brings candidates to the state in New Hampshire. You ask him, his big achievement is that he coaches the women's basketball team and that's in Massachusetts,” she continued.

Shaheen's comments come after he announced on Wednesday that he would not seek re-election in 2026. The Senator was considered a state agency and served in the Senate since 2009 and served as governor from 1997 to 2003.

Republicans wanted to recruit Brown, who failed to run with Shaheen and Shaheen, to run again in 2014.

The former Massachusetts senator who failed Shaheen for the senator in 2014 told Hill he was thinking of running again.

Brown said in a post on Social Platform X that it was time to place someone on a state delegation supporting President Trump.

“appreciate [Shaheen’s] Vote me as the NZ and Samoa ambassador of NH for our state and for her support. It's time for New Hampshire to fight for our priorities and give birth to someone in the delegation who stands, not Trump's agenda,” Brown said in the Post.

Former New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) has also been a target for Republican recruiting efforts and has said he has no interest in running for the Senate. However, he told the Washington Times this week he “was completely excluded it.”
