DOGE shuts down taxpayer-funded program for ‘queer, trans, and BIPOC urban farmers’ in San Francisco, ag sec says

The Trump administration has identified and announced it has cancelled a taxpayer-funded program that supports “queer, trans and bipock urban farmers” in San Francisco, California.

Agriculture Secretary Brook Collins' US Department has posted a “Doge Update” about the grant on a social media video. The government's Efficiency Bureau aims to eradicate waste, fraud and abuse from federal spending.

“We are ending the politics of identity and refocusing the institutions on our core mission to support American agriculture.”

“To this day, USDA funded a $397,000 grant in the San Francisco Gulf region, educating queer, trans and bipok farmers and consumers about food justice and value-adjusted markets,” said Rollins of the video.

“By stopping this wasted spending here at USDA, we are ending identity politics and refocusing our agency on our core mission to support agriculture, ranches and forests in America,” she added.

Her video on social media has garnered more than 101.8 million views, mainly from those who mock and ridicule federal spending.

Doge's efforts to cut the size of the government have been criticized by Democrats who accused the Trump administration of conducting unconstitutionality. Several legal challenges to action are accompanied by mixed court outcomes.

The BIPOC designation is the acronym for “black, indigenous, people of color,” and is the recommended alternative to the word “minority” on the left.
