If James Dolan could go back and change history, Vinsanity would have been starring on Broadway, not from the New Jersey turnpike.
In a Thursday appearance on the Roommates Show podcast, hosted by Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, Knicks executive chairman Dolan explained that he wanted him to come back and take Vince Carter to the Knicks.
Apparently, the Knicks were planning to complete the basketball hall of fame trade, but the New York medical team told the front office that Carter “is likely to “be 90% have ablated the Achilles tendon and will never hold up.”
“And when it burst, he never became the same player, so we didn't make a deal,” Dolan said.
The Knicks owner jokingly added: I kept waiting for his Achilles tendon to break, which never broke. ”
“Yeah, we certainly dodged a bullet there,” Dolan quipped.
