A South Carolina woman has been accused of stabbing a newborn baby to death.
Last Friday night, the female boyfriend called 911 about a medical emergency in the apartment, WHNS-TV reported.
“We're talking for this baby. We're going to make sure this baby receives justice.”
Easley Police Station officials responded to the scene around 8:30pm and found a seriously injured newborn boy and the toddler was declared dead at the scene, the station said.
WHNS said the boy's official cause and method of death has not been released yet, but Easley Police Chief Brandon Reiner said his mother killed him.
The T NGO is being charged with child abuse murder, Station said.
During the birth of the baby, she “stinged him repeatedly in the opening game of a long metal letter,” Whns reported.
The NGO then placed the newborn in a garbage bag and placed them in another room, the station said.
“It was very clear that the Miss NGO was the one who tragically murdered this child,” Reiner said according to WHNS.
Reiner added: I've never seen anything worse than this,” the station said.
The NGO was taken to hospital for treatment, an officer told WHNS before appearing in front of a judge on Tuesday night. The station said a Vietnamese interpreter translated the judge's words into words from an NGO.
WHNS said the magistrate could not set bonds for murder on suspicion of child abuse and the NGO would have to show up to a Circuit Court judge at a later date. The NGOs remained at Pickens County Detention Center on Friday morning.
Reiner said the case was extremely difficult for investigators, but “We talk for this baby. We make sure this baby receives justice. It didn't have a chance in life. It's not that long.”
The Easley Police Department and the Pickens County Coroner's Office are continuing their investigation with the support of the infant death forces of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. The Ministry of Social Welfare is also supporting the incident.
