President Donald Trump's candidate ran the Centers for Medicare on Friday, and Medicaid testified before the Senate Finance Committee.

Dr. Oz outlined his vision of making healthcare more affordable and efficient for millions of Americans.

The former heart surgeon has emphasized the need to become a television personality and strengthen health care while ensuring long-term sustainability.

“We have a generational opportunity to modify our healthcare system and help people stay healthy for longer,” he said. “That's why President Trump wants to love and cherish Medicare and Medicaid because he believes that every American should get the care they want, need and deserve. To achieve this vision, CMS must work with Congress to find the efficiencies that will help stabilize the insurance market.

Oz also expressed his support for Medicaid recipients' job requirements, saying it would help ensure that the resources go to those in the most needy.

While talking about prescription drug prices, Oz reaffirmed President Trump's goal of cutting costs for both the government and the Americans

“President Trump is very clear about this. We want to cut the costs of drugs to our government and the American people, joint payments. That's not happening now, Oz said.

When asked about Republican budget plans that could affect health care coverage, Oz had not considered the details, but assured lawmakers that he didn't want his children to lose insurance.

Oz later defended Medicare drug price negotiations and said he would explore all options to cut costs.

“I'm going to see because the President has already directed me to every possible way we can lower drug prices. And there are plenty of options available. I feel compelled to pursue all of them.”

OZ, a Republican majority of the Senate, has been confirmed and will oversee Medicare, Medicaid, and other health programs that serve more than 150 million people in the United States.
