Former Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and other Democrats Saturday hypocrites and pushed them using filibusters to block the GOP-backed funding bill.
“I understand the change in Filibuster's heart!” Cinema needle Ocasio-Cortez once pounded Sinema for not succumbing to left-wing pressure, taking the left-wing pressure to scrap the tools.
Democrats made it worse when former President Joe Biden was trying to break through his agenda. He argued in January 2022 that the Filibuster was a relic of the separatist era and would appease left-handers like the AOC, who have long been seeking to discard it.
Cinema and the Senator (dw.va.) were key swing votes in the Senate, and they stood up to their party base at the time, forcing the Democrats to abandon their efforts.
But many of these same solid opponents of the Standing Senate Rules for Passing Legislation, as Gopers were trying to pass bills to fund the government for the next six months.
“I was surprised to see support for the 'Jim Crow Filibuster' here,” she swipes with progressive MP Pramira Jayapal (d-wash.). Read her own words About Biden's attempt to hand over her voting rights package.
She also cheated former Clinton-aged Labor Secretary Robert Reich. Robert Reich swipes over her to try and strengthen her tool, celebrating his turnaround.
Cinema also introduced Silicon Valley Democrat Locanna for pushing “end the filibuster” three years ago.
“When Senate minority leaders sell you off, the only option is to reclaim the party and country with blue and red grassroots activists. Stand up to the Constitution and our democracy.”
“[S]Devouring for the Constitution and our Democracy,” Cinema I quoted him“#ohlookthefilibuster.”
On Friday night, she even asked X users to help edit the list of spineless polls.
“Who created the SPR?[ea]DSH[ee]Show T: Senator/Candidate on Record to eliminate Filibuster, the same senator who voted for Filibuster today, signer signer bonus points on April 7, 2017 [then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)] They say they're saving the filibuster,” she said. I asked.
Ten Democrats, including Schumer, worked with 52 Republicans to defeat the Filibuster on Friday, providing funding to the government at its current level until September 30th.
Ocasio-Cortez, rumored to be focusing on a major challenge to Schumer, tore Democratic leaders apart for refusing to block the bill as government shutdowns came into effect in the middle of the night.
“There's a deep sense of anger and betrayal,” she told reporters about Schumer on Thursday. “And this isn't just progressive Democrats. It's all over the board – the whole party.”
“To see Senate Democrats even thinking about getting Elon Musk,” she also said, “I think it's a big slap in the face.”
