Van Jones remarks on ‘volcanic anger’ Dems have for Schumer over spending bill

CNN senior political commentator Van Jones is currently known as Democrats' leader in the Senate minority Chuck Schumer, DN.Y.

Critics say that Schumer has seen the most outrage he's ever seen from Democrats to one of its own after he promised to vote to pass a federal spending bill to avoid government shutdowns.

“I've never seen Democrats see this level of volcanic fury… I've never seen before,” Jones told CNN anchor Erin Burnett on Friday.

Chuck Schumer votes to keep the government open: “For Donald Trump, closures will be a gift.”

CNN commentator Van Jones said he never saw party anger towards his members, following his commitment to vote for this week's spending bill, Democrats showed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer DN.Y.

Schumer announced his vote on the Short-Term Expenditure Bill or Continuing Resolution (CR) on Thursday evening, saying “I believe the bill is very bad, but the possibility of a shutdown will affect America much worse.”

The senator voted 54-46 to pass the Stop Gup Expenditure Bill.

Democrats are split on whether they accept CR or risk shutting down the government. As of Thursday afternoon, D-Va. Officer Mark Warner, D-Md. Several lawmakers, including Chris Van Hollen, have posted a video on social media informing them that they have voted against the CR.

Following Schumer's pledge to vote for CR, other democratic lawmakers like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) shredded him. On CNN Thursday night, Ocasio-Cortez told Anchor Jake Tapper that Schumer's move was “a tremendous mistake.”

“And for me, there's little reason why Senate Democrats vote to pass on some leverage we have for free when we're sent here to protect Social Security, protect Medicaid and protect Medicare,” she added.

Dem heard his colleague scream, despite Schumer's unified claims as if the shutdown was looming.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the office of Schumer, a minority leader, for comment.

Anger from progressive Democrats showed in-party frustration over Schumer's move.

“We can get mad, we can get frustrated with each other. [But] I want Mitch McConnell, so there's an angry volcanic eruption in Leader Schumer,” Jones said.

“When Obama had all the cards, Mitch McConnell drove Obama Nuts — I remember twisting his pinky finger, breaking his kneecap, and getting him to do something for Republicans. They shouldn't get miles.

“There's an emotional need to stop Donald Trump and Elon Musk from running through this party, and I think Chuck Schumer has fundamentally misunderstood the room,” Jones said.
