Fed judge orders deportation flights carrying alleged Venezuelan gangbangers to return to US after Trump invokes Alien Enemies Act

A federal judge stopped President Trump from invoking the alien enemy law of the 18th century on Saturday.

US District Judge James Boasberg quickly halted an order that allowed U.S. authorities to deport Venezuelan groups under wartime actions after civil rights groups submitted their challenge early Saturday, the Washington Post reported.

The District of Columbia Supreme Court judge said he had heard that “flights are on the move,” and ordered the Trump administration to immediately halt all removals and return to the United States for planes carrying immigrants.

That comes late Saturday when Trump strives to expand the use of orders to deport immigrant gang members around the country.
