81 Illegal Aliens Arrested in Kentucky ICE Raids

Many federal law enforcement agencies were tied up along with the ice to carry out deportation raids as part of the operation within the four days that ended Friday. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Kentucky has announced the arrests of 81 illegal aliens.

The operation, coordinated from Louisville, netted illegal foreigners from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Cuba, India and Palau. Twenty-five illegal aliens of those arrested face criminal charges including illegal re-entry after deportation or removal, illegal possession of firearms and possession of controlled substances.

Unlawful foreigners who are not criminally charged will be held in ice custody awaiting removal proceedings and potential deportation.

“We commend the work of federal law enforcement partners, prosecutors and support personnel who made tireless efforts to make this operation a success,” said US lawyer Michael A. Bennett.

Here are the arrests facing the most serious criminal charges within the Western District of Kentucky:

Angel David Zuniga Stupida 35-year-old Honduras citizen, has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a foreigner following expulsion or removal. Zuniga-Baca also faces charges of re-entry into the US after its removal. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 17 years in prison.

Zoiber Hernandez-Domingueza 50-year-old Mexican citizen, has been charged with possession of a firearm by an illegal foreigner.
