“American Idol” is playing its 23rd season.
On Sunday's episode of Singing Competition Show, judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Brian were made almost pointless after competitor Sophie Powers, a 20-year-old from Toronto. I played the original song It is called “stfu”.
Before the Powers entered the audition room, Underwood, who won “Idol” in 2005 and returned to the show as a judge 20 years later, spoke about his hopes for the 23rd season.

“At the end of this, I want to meet someone who controls the airwaves and charts,” Underwood said. “I want to see a huge artist coming out of it.”
Enter Sophie, who described her song as “Tiajerker” and kicked off her audition.

“I had a pet lizard named George / He's cool, but he really bored me,” she began singing her. “So I gave him to my mom and she loves him so much because the animals are better than people / They tried to cancel me, tried to cancel me, annoy me, annoy me / annoy me / annoy me / I don't like my job.”

The judges were visibly confused, but Powers asked Richie how he felt.
“Frustration,” replied Richie.

“My wife plays that song every night,” joked Brian. “You should have put Luke, f—up.”

“You obviously have something,” Underwood said. “You're funny. Obviously, in the context of “American Idol” you don't know where you'll fit here. ”
“I'm not like that either, I'm literally Canadian,” replied the singer-songwriter.
The three of us were “no” and thanked the judges before leaving the room.
Viewers quickly shared their thoughts on the unique audition.
“When her parents told her, 'Sophie, you're just yourself,' Sophie took it as a challenge,” one viewer commented on YouTube. “I loved this audition and I loved her, and I wanted her to go to Hollywood.
“She'll be the most famous of this season,” another wrote.
