The recent deportation, with more than 200 gang members participating in El Salvador, was a major topic of discussion during a White House reporter briefing on Monday. Last week, President Donald Trump signed an order to revive the alien enemy laws of 1798.

On Saturday, illegal foreigners were deported to El Salvador under the law. Federal District judges had ordered the deportation to be delayed and flights to be revolved, but the plane was already in international waters when the written order was issued, according to the White House. As a result, deportation proceeded as planned.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Lewitt said White House lawyers are examining the legal implications of the verbal and written orders after being questioned about why the flight didn't spin before the written order.
“In reality, there are questions about whether oral order holds the same weight as written legal order,” Leavitt said. “And our lawyers are determined to ask and answer those questions in court.”
Leavitt explained that the deported individuals were identified as gang members through intelligence reporting activities, highlighting their trust in customs and border security.
“We can assure the American people that the CBP, ICE and the Department of Homeland Security are confident in the individual identities of these planes,” Leavitt said. “They understand the threat these individuals pose to our hometowns and take their mission incredibly seriously.”
“They are bringing life to deport these designated terrorists from our country,” continued Levitt. “And they should trust them to do that, and that's exactly what the Americans chose this president.”
Reporters also asked Leavitt about a recent video posted to the White House Instagram account. This showed that illegal aliens were deported while Semisonic's “closure time” was played in the background. She defended the video, saying it effectively conveyed the Trump administration's immigrant stance.
“We are not afraid to effectively send a message about what the president does every day to make our community safer,” Leavitt said. “I think the video summarizes our immigration policy quite well. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.”
Furthermore, Levitt responded to an investigation into future debates between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump on potential resolutions for the Russian-Ukrainian War. Leavitt denounced the leader of the Biden administration for the Russian-Ukraine war, but claimed that Trump was committed to solving the war.
“I think the previous administration was the reason why this war began,” Levitt argued. “As President Trump often says, if he had been in office, this war would never have started. It was only because of the incompetence and weakness of the previous administration.”
“I can say we're in 10th– The Line of Peace, and we have never come closer to a peace agreement than in this moment,” Levitt added. “And as you know, the President is determined to accomplish one thing.”
