White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has already surpassed one of Biden's predecessors in the total number of political fact checks after just two months.
On Thursday, Politifact issued her latest facts to Leavitt, saying, “Taxes are tax cuts for Americans.” Politifact rated it as “false,” and Chief Secretary Louis Jacobson wrote that “almost all economists” view tariffs as “tax cuts, not tax cuts.”
This is marked Leavitt's third Politifact fact check Since beginning her tenure as spokesperson in January, she has officially moved ahead with the entire record of fact-opening for former Biden spokesperson Jen Psaki.

In 16 months, Psaki held on to that position. Politifact checked her twiceonce in November 2021 and once in January 2022. Her November buildback claim was rated “fake” and her January Covid vaccine claim was rated “True.”
In contrast, Leavitt had Fact checks for her first two Politifacts On January 30th, less than two weeks after starting his position, nearly 10 months before Psaki. One was rated as “false” and the other was rated as “Half-True” only.

In a comment on Fox News Digital, White House spokesman Taylor Rogers said, “The “reporter” known as the so-called “reporter” of politicians is not a checker of fact. They are left crusaders dedicated to spinning truth, committing lies, lying and promoting.
