‘Bourbon Street Hustler’ charged with murder in Super Bowl reporter’s death

Louisiana police announced Tuesday a new murder charge against the suspect in the death of a Super Bowl reporter in the February 5th death of a Super Bowl reporter in the suburbs of New Orleans and new charges against his accomplice.

Adan Manzano, a 27-year-old Telemundo Sports Reporter based in Kansas City, Missouri; Traveled to New Orleans with assignment It was discovered that Xanax is in his system in a room at Kenner's Comfort Suites hotel, covering the Super Bowl in February.

Officials said Tuesday that Manzano's cause of death was a combination of Xanax and the toxic effects of alcohol, and that he was found to “put his face down on a lively pillow around his nose and mouth.”

Given the unusual circumstances surrounding the death of the victim, the way he died remains undecided.

Two days after Manzano was discovered, police arrested and charged 45-year-old Danette Colbert, who was called “Bourbon Street Hustler” on social media and was charged with multiple fugitives, fraud and robbery charges in connection with the death of a young reporter. Authorities believe she may have taken Manzano's drugs and that she may have stole his credit card before authorities find him dead.

Kenner police announced Tuesday that Colbert was charged with second-degree murder based on additional evidence obtained by authorities. Her suspected accomplice was also arrested.

“Mr. Colbert doesn't want to see the light of day again,” Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley said at a press conference Tuesday.

The former US S and Hollywood police arrested her allegedly accomplice in Florida on Friday. He faces charges of simple robbery and fraud. Police have not released the names of their accomplices as of Tuesday.

Police say Colbert, known for forcing and stomping male victims to steal them in New Orleans and Las Vegas, was denied bonds last month.

“They met French Quarter, Probably a little in the morning. They returned to their hotel in Kenner city around 4:30am on February 5th. At that time, there will be surveillance video from the hotel lobby. [Manzano’s] Room at that time,” Kenner Police Chief Conley previously told Fox News Digital.

“after that [Colbert] I came out, ran to the store, came back after about 30 minutes and left the room within 10 or 15 minutes. And he never saw it again on video except when he entered the room. So she was the last person to be with him,” the police chief said.

Detectives discovered that one of Manzano's credit cards went missing while processing his hotel room, Conley told reporters at a February 8 press conference. Authorities obtained a search warrant that could track where the credit card was used after Manzano was found, leading to Colbert.

The suspects are linked to alleged drugs and robbery cases in New Orleans and Las Vegas, and Conley believes she may be involved in the death of another man in New Orleans.

“This investigation is likely to lead to her being involved in another New Orleans death in December,” Conley said. “We work together [the New Orleans Police Department]. We cannot just speculate if we have to work with the State Police and the Attorney General's Office to get as much information as possible before we reach a conclusion. ”

Conley said Colbert “has a long history… it brings men to confidence.”

“Men become incapacitated in some way, and at that point they lose all their money, their wealth. By the time they wake up or come to regain consciousness, they are out of a lot of money.

Police are asking anyone with information about Colbert to come forward. Some victims do not speak out due to the sensitive nature of the suspect's crime, Conley said.

After identifying the suspect as a potential suspect in connection with Manzano's death, authorities executed a search warrant at Colbert's address and found a stolen gun that appears to be unrelated to Manzano's death and drugs.

Colbert could face additional charges once an investigation into Manzano's death occurs.

Telemundo 39 remembered Manzano in his statement as “a true expert and rising star who exemplified the excellence of his work.”
