FBI, ATF investigating damage to Cybertrucks at Kansas City Tesla dealership

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are investigating cybertruck damage at a Tesla dealer in Kansas City, Missouri, according to a social media post on Tuesday.

“The FBI and the ATF are working with the Kansas City Police Department, Missouri, to investigate a nighttime incident in which a cybertruck was damaged at a Tesla dealer in South Kansas City,” the FBI's Kansas City Field Office said in a statement posted to Facebook.

“Similar incidents have occurred in several states, and the FBI and ATF are coordinating with federal, state and local law enforcement partners to gather information.” The statement continued.

Last week, President Trump signalled that he would be open to calling people who commit violence at Tesla dealers, “domestic terrorists.” When asked if the president could talk about some of the violence taking place at Tesla dealers, reporters also pointed out to some of those who believe that the people behind the violence should be labelled as domestic terrorists.

“I'll do that, I'll do that. I'll stop them,” Trump said last week. “When you catch them, those people have big problems. We have a lot of cameras. We already know who some of them are. We'll catch them.”

“And they're the bad guys. They're the same guys who mess up our schools and our colleges and the same trash,” the president added.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside Tesla's showroom on Saturday to try to significantly cut federal spending by publicly showing CEO Elon Musk and his work alongside government efficiency.

Oka reached out to the White House and Tesla for comment.
