Doge chief Elon Musk expressed shock on Tuesday with “Hate and Violence from the left” about the government's cost-cutting measures that caused arson attacks and vandalism on Tesla vehicles.
“It's really shocking that there was this level of hatred and violence from the left. I always thought that while the Democrats were a party of sympathy, a party of compassion, they were burning distributors.
Tesla's CEO argued that his electric car company has always been “peaceful” and that he personally never did anything “harmful” or “poor” to ensure such a backlash.
“I've only done productive things,” Musk said. “So I think we're just confused. This makes no sense, so there's something mentally ill going on here.”
Attorney General Pam Bondy on Tuesday called the latest splate of target attacks on Tesla vehicles “It's nothing but domestic terrorism.”
Bondi declared after five Tesla vehicles were damaged after a fire broke out at the Tesla Cruising Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday morning. Local authorities accused arsonists of throwing Molotov cocktails for the fire, noting that the word “resistance” was spray painted on the facility door and gunshots were fired at other Teslas.
“I think there's more power here too,” Musk said. “So you don't know who's funding this or who's adjusting this?”
“This is crazy,” he added. “I've never seen anything like this.”
Musk attributed it to his violence in eradicating federal waste, fraud and abuse through his work that aimed to significantly cut $2 trillion in government spending.
“When you take people away, it turns out. You know, the money they receive fraudulently, they are very upset,” he said.
“They want to kill me because they are basically stopping scams, and they want to hurt Tesla because they are stopping this terrible waste and corruption in the government,” Musk continued, “bad people will do bad things.”
“This extreme hatred and violence is because we have actually managed to remove corruption and waste. If we do not succeed in removing corruption and waste, they won't care,” he insisted.
Musk, who also owns Rocket Company SpaceX, also celebrated the return of NASA astronauts Butch Willmore and Suni Williams.
“We're really testing the edge of human ability here, the very edge of material science. It's amazing how humans can do this,” Tech Tycoon said.
“But hopefully for those out there, this is a moment of optimism about the future, a moment of excitement about the future, and a portends something wonderful for America and humanity in space.”
